Yesterday while doing yard work I discovered that I had upset a nest of either hornets or wasps. Let’s call them hornets.
When I was about eleven years old I unwittingly stepped on a hornet’s nest. I remember thinking, “Gee, what’s that loud buzzing sound?” before my body was rent asunder by vicious bites.
OK, it was only seven stings, but the shock and pain were both unprecedented at the time.
Anyway, I beat feet before yesterday’s attackers could take me out. I peeked around a couple of minutes later and figured out where they were hiding out.
I just poured boiling water over the ground where the nest is.
And somewhere in the cosmos, the karmic balance scale is level once again.
